Junglefish is the alter-ego of me, singer-songwriter and general layabout, Michael Casey.
Bored with the “one man and a guitar” model so readily adopted by most singer-songwriters, and so rightly despised by all discerning music lovers, I surround myself with as many collaborators as I can in order to enhance my songs and have some fun with them. The Junglefish project therefore is a bit of an open tent, welcoming singers and musicians who have something to add.
My live shows follow a philosophy of, “never the same show twice!”, regularly showcasing new material and new band-members. Sometimes chaotic, often funny and always interesting!
My association with the Junglestrings is a bit of an accident. The quartet was originally put together to record just one song, and that turned into, “Hey, maybe we could play a show together?”, and then that became several shows and now we meet regularly to eat dinner, develop new material and just enjoy playing together. They are amazing! I call them, “my band”, but in actual fact I’m really just, “their singer”.
