Junglefish is the brainchild of me, singer-songwriter and general layabout, Michael Casey.
Diametrically opposed to the “one person with a guitar” model so beloved by most singer-songwriters and so rightly despised by all discerning music lovers, I surround myself with as many collaborators as I can in order to enhance the songs and have some fun with them. The Junglefish project therefore is an open tent, welcoming singers and musicians with something to add.
My live shows follow a philosophy of, “never the same show twice!”, regularly showcasing new material and new band-members. Sometimes chaotic, occasionally mistake-ridden, often funny and always interesting!
My association with the Junglestrings is a bit of an accident. Originally devised and put together to record just one song, that turned into, “Hey, maybe we could play a show together?”, and then into several shows and now we meet regularly to eat dinner, develop new material and just enjoy playing together. They are amazing! I call them, “my band”, but in actual fact sometimes I feel as if I’m just, “their singer”.
